Unilever at a glance:
- 400 brands including Lipton, Knorr, Dove, Omo, etc.
- 14 categories of home, personal care and foods products.
- 179,000 employees in around 100 countries worldwide.
- Annual turnover of 40 billion Euro.
Unilever's biggest challenges were to ensure transparency in the document process and providing a significant reduction in operating costs accordingly.
Ricoh offered a total Managed Print Service (MPS) solution, covering:
- Comprehensive on-site audits of all sites, not based on estimates or extrapolation.
- Ongoing management and monitoring via specialised MPS measurement tools to provide a real-time view of service performance (including 3rd party machines).
- Broad geographical reach with full service and support, and proven track record at implementing innovative managed services.
Implemented across sites in Italy, UK, Netherlands, Germany and France over the last few years, the rationalisation of devices across Europe currently adds up to 50%, delivering cost savings in excess of 20%. Following the success of deployment in this first wave of countries, MPS is currently being rolled out to more European countries with cost savings that are expected to exceed 25%.
In addition to the direct costs savings realised, helpdesk support costs have been reduced significantly and by outsourcing several staffed print rooms to Ricoh in the UK, Unilever is benefiting from additional operational efficiencies.
