Aficio™SP 4100N/SP 4110N – Ricoh’s High Performance Black & White A4 Laser Printers with Low Total Cost of Ownership

Amstelveen, The Netherlands, March 2007 – Ricoh Europe B.V. today announced the introduction of two new monochrome laser printers, the Aficio™SP 4100N and Aficio™SP 4110N. With speeds of 31 and 36 pages per minute (ppm) respectively, these A4 printers are top-of-the-line in Ricoh’s desktop range. Targeted at small companies and workgroups at larger companies, they offer high productivity, dependability, superior paper handling and a low cost of ownership. Multiple connectivity options and bundled monitoring tools provide easy-to-manage network printing.

With a first print speed of less than 6.9 seconds and a continuous print speed of 31 ppm, the Aficio™SP 4100N delivers rapid results. The Aficio™SP 4110N performs even faster and prints continuously at 36 ppm. A recovery time of less than 12 seconds adds to the printers’ quick deployment. Duplex printing at the same high speeds is optionally available.

Reducing the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), the SP 4100N and SP 4110N are competitively priced and offer an ultra-low cost per print. The long-life cartridges contribute to low maintenance costs. In energy saver mode, the devices’ power consumption is minimised to less than 6.5 W.

Katya Chursina, Product Manager at Ricoh Europe B.V., comments: “Nowadays, black and white desktop printers have to deal with an increasing workload and users expect more than just being able to print their documents. Ricoh answers these needs with the Aficio™SP 4100N and SP 4110N. We take things one step further than the competition, offering impressive print speeds, a very attractive hardware price and more advanced capabilities. We are confident that we will maintain our competitive position in the black and white desktop A4 printer segment.”

Both printers come with a variety of paper handling options. The standard and optional paper trays handle various sizes up to A4 with weights up to 130 g/m². Using the bypass tray, users can print on media up to 162 g/m². Envelope printing is straightforward thanks to the dedicated envelope mode. The maximum paper capacity of up to 1,600 sheets and maximum resolution of 1,200 x 600 dpi ensure uninterrupted delivery of high quality output.

The SP 4100N and SP 4110N’s connectivity and device monitoring possibilities are up to the latest standards. Their standard parallel interface and USB 2.0 allow for direct connection to legacy computers and the network board for Ethernet 10-base-T/100base-TX. Wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11b) and Gigabit Ethernet are optional. With the help of Web Image Monitor and SmartDeviceMonitor™, network administrators and IT managers can set user privileges and track complete job statistics.

With a straight paper path and a maximum duty cycle of no less than 100,000 and 150,000 pages respectively, the SP 4100N and SP 4110N are designed to be solid, sturdy and foolproof. Equipped with a 400MHz PCU controller, both models can easily handle the user’s demanding workload.

The Aficio™SP 4100N/SP 4110N are the latest additions to Ricoh’s range of digital office equipment. Ricoh currently manufactures one of the world’s most extensive line-ups of printers, copiers, scanners, faxes and multifunctional devices, as well as advanced software solutions.
