Ricoh Renews Multifunction Range by Introducing Four New models – From Low Cost Printing to Fully Customisable Document Processing

The Aficio™MP 2510/MP 3010 and Aficio™MP 3500/MP 4500 are designed for extensive customisation to suit customer specific workflows. The copier mainframes can be easily expanded with the affordable Ricoh proprietary RPCS™ printer unit, a common PCL printer unit, or a full-featured printer/scanner unit. These options can be either pre-configured or installed at a later point in time to meet changing customer requirements. A high speed fax module is optionally available as well.

While the Aficio™MP 2510/MP 3010 print continuously at 25/30 pages per minute (ppm), the Aficio™MP 3500/MP 4500 step up the pace at 35/45 ppm. Duplex output is equally fast. Finishing options include booklet creation (MP 3500/MP 4500 only), punching and stapling, so professional looking presentations, flyers and promotional material can be produced in-house.

Although colour is increasingly popular, the demand for monochrome office devices keeps growing. Harald List, Manager Business Product Planning at Ricoh Europe B.V., is confident about the Aficio™MP 2510/MP 3010 and Aficio™MP 3500/MP 4500: “Ricoh is traditionally leading the market in the black and white office segment and our new models will further increase our competitiveness,” he explains. “With these models we want to offer customers a choice. Advanced features are available for all four models, but if not required, slim versions offer a low cost alternative.”

To protect the user’s data against possible security threats, the Aficio™MP 2510/MP 3010 and MP 3500/MP 4500 have been outfitted with the latest security measures. These include common authentication methods and data encryption. To safeguard data on the Hard Disk Drive, a Data Overwrite Security function overwrites the hidden temporary data with random data after the completion of a job. The Copy Data Security unit protects confidential prints with an embedded pattern which greys out the document when it is copied by unauthorised users.

Suiting virtually any network environment, these devices feature a number of tools which allow companies to streamline their workflow, save paper and save time. Digitised files can be sent to a network folder, e-mail address, URL or FTP. While incoming faxes can be distributed via the local network or forwarded to any e-mail address, outgoing faxes can be sent directly from the user’s PC. Furthermore, a high level of manageability, including status notification via e-mail, will greatly help administrators and IT managers.
